Content should be written in a way that users want to read it. It should also be accurate and up to date. Search Engines as well as users look for current content and fresh content. You should regularly update and QA your content (spell check, grammar check, check links, and check images)

When writing your content make sure to use and repeat your top keywords. Use a balance of keyword rich copy and user attractive copy. You want search engines to find your content but you don't want your content to look like it is written just for search engines. Content is for your users not search engines so make sure it reflects that.

Example of well written content:

This is from the Chancellor's welcome page. You can see it uses the keyword "UNK" frequently but not to a point that it doesn't look natural. It also uses the key phrases and words "difference" and "difference makers" but it doesn't overuse them and make this feel like a page designed for SEO. This example may not be representative of the type of content all editors use but you can definitely use the same concept as far as keywords and quality of the content.

Wow!

When I’m visiting with people day to day, telling stories as I do about UNK, the word I hear as a response the most is that one. “Wow.”

Many high school students visit for the first time to consider whether UNK has a place in their future. Most often they come here with their parents, who may also have never been to Kearney or seen UNK before. They are surprised at what they discover. Alumni who haven’t returned for many years after leaving with their new diploma in hand return to discover how our campus has grown and changed. Talented scholars and other future members of our academy arrive to discover a small, private-college atmosphere on a major state university campus.

But what impresses people the most – what we know is the heart of UNK’s story and our promise – is us. The people here at UNK.

Whether you visit UNK in person or you’re checking us out on your mobile device or on your computer via this website, I think you’re going to say “Wow” after you experience UNK, because the difference is noticeable.

Here’s my promise to you — the UNK difference:

Quality academics combined with hands-on learning experiences
Affordability combined with quality – an unmatched value
People who care
A fantastic, involved community.
